Being a working dog has its blessing. Not only does it earn you the best tucker in the house but helps you when you go BLIND to get around the place. Pikes has discovered that if he listens to the WHOLE family instead of the boss, they can give him his commands to steer him around the place. The other nite he strayed too far from the house for nature call. Next thing he's barking his son to his rescue. Nothing like a dog's guide dog.

My little girl was dumped on the side of the road and had obviously suffered abuse. She was 4 months when she was found and was scared of everything. One year on she is more confident but barks at new people (mainly males)and won't go near them. Recently she has started having "freak outs" where she has to go hide under the bed for a while which she hasn't done since she was a baby. Does anyone have any advice or have been in a similar situation?

My little mate has inherited catarraches from his Catahoula breeding. (Border Collie)He is going blind. The distressing thing is he is two years old. The operation by 1 of 2 surgeons in NZ is $3000. We hope for a $ miracle. Has anyone else been put in this horrible situation? Looking for HELP...

Manson is the patriarch of our family. We have 7 abused and dumped cats, the most recent being 2 kittens - one of which was thrown from a car window during the xmas holidays. We also have 3 dogs - 2 of which turned up at our house severly neglected. Anything that turns up gets fed and a home found. We have also just rescued a hawk that was hit by a car and is now at a native bird rescue for rehabilitation. It is disgusting how some people treat animals!!!

We took Jet to Massey today and got quite a shock as they asked to keep her there and will operate Tuesday or Wednesday & she can come home on Friday. We thought they would just check her over today and we would get another appointment.Happening so fast,we are amazed.Also amazed that cost quote has gone up from $2000 to maybe $2500. Hope it is the lesser. Anyway we have to give them 25% of the cost before the end of this week. Have given them $300 already & I have e-mailed Butch to see if they can send Massey the funds already raised from all you lovely people. I will update more when I hear from Massey.Thank you all once again.

n00dles addopted 1.5 yrs ago from abandoned house snue addopted 5 mnths ago from the streets

Both are now berry healty and big, snue still isant used to people picking him up, he must have had a horrible life on the streets, hes changed so much, looks so much better, n00dles is called n00dles because our next door neighbour moved out and left him there with a plate of n00dles to servive on, bonus he was still a kitten.

Im 18 & my cats are like my babies, all the boys up the road always have me on their backs about their dogs running around the streets, putting my cats in jeopardy, I have some of them come to my house and say sorry to my cats otherwise ill twist their ears.
