After hours Vets

Aren't you all sick of not having the local vet on call after hours? I live in Hutt Valley and had to go to after hours emergency clinic when I had pups and mother had probs. 5 years ago I paid $855 for emergency c-section, told them she needed to be done straight away, they waited nearly 2 hours, lost one pup, another drowned in fluid they were so slow, got one pup only left. It wouldn't be so bad if we could get to know the emergency vets so we could share our specialised knowledge of our breeds (vets know dogs, they don't always know the special needs of the different breeds and this can make the difference between live and dead pups and dogs)I used to go into the "OR" of the local vet, and clean up the pups as they were passed over. She was marvellous, even giving one mum a light anaesthetic and just massaging a (genetic mutant = giant)puppy that was so big it got stuck, waking mum up and then she had the rest of the pups. I was so impressed. Now I'm just 'depressed'. Maybe I should just give up, or move to a rural place (if I had the money eh?) Do any of you know the vets at Ngauranga Emergency Vet Clinic in Wgtn?

I live in Massey Akl

after numerous consultations, hundreds of $ & heaps of useless medication from the local vet in Swanson my dog still suffered from the same skin condition, my cat was sent home $89 later"he'll be fine" and died that night from dehydration a drip would've fixed, I had 8 cats desexed in 2 days (pd in advance) and the vet refused to come out 10pm for easy the suffering of my injured dying dog as I was short $100 of the fee...don't take your pets there
