Soldiermum's Pup update.

We took Jet to Massey today and got quite a shock as they asked to keep her there and will operate Tuesday or Wednesday & she can come home on Friday. We thought they would just check her over today and we would get another appointment.Happening so fast,we are amazed. Also amazed that cost quote has gone up from $2000 to maybe $2500. Hope it is the lesser. Anyway we have to give them 25% of the cost before the end of this week. Have given them $300 already & I have e-mailed Butch to see if they can send Massey the funds already raised from all you lovely people. I will update more when I hear from Massey.Thank you all once again.

Jet's bandages were supposed to stay on

until at least Monday. She had one off by Sat. morning.Other one has rolled down a bit but luckily the wounds are small & aren't leaking. Hell of a job keeping her quiet. Vet notes say take her out twice a day to the toilet. Yea right. When she wants to go, ya just gotta take her. Mr Chips [kitten] loves to play with Jet's paws or tail and even pats Jet's nose. Soooo cute. Well, it's that time again. Zzzzzzzzzz

Got Jet back home now.

She is sore but happy to get to stay inside with Mum. She has to be kept quiet for 6-7 weeks. That won't be easy.Should have seen her when the Vet brought her into the room to see me. She wouldn't sit still, kept trying to put her paws on my knees. Well, it's been a long day & bed calls. Hugs to all that have donated, or are going to donate, to Soldiermum's pup. Thank you all.

Duh, I got the left & right mixed.

Jet's left elbow is the bad one and the right seems OK. Was thinking of it as I would look at Jet. My right, her left & vice versa.

Well I have just spoken to the Vet at Massey

& he said Jet's right elbow had the biggest flap of loose bone he had ever seen, so he had to chip it out a bit at a time. Her left elbow was a surprise at the other end of the scale as it had nothing he could see.He will ring again tomorrow to say when I can bring her home. For her age, the arthritis in the right joint is a lot, so will no doubt cause her problems even within a year or two.She will have to stay inside for 6-7 weeks & only go outside to the toilet & a short walk.As the Vet said, not the best news but hopefully Jet will feel better when she gets home.He said having the loose bone would be like us walking with a stone in our shoe so at least that has gone. Another update maybe tomorrow.

Thank you MOIKYBOY for answering the questions.

I heard from Massey at 25 to 7pm tonight, yes they were still working, and have been so busy that Jet will now be having her op tomorrow.[Wednesday] They will ring me again tomorrow hopefully a bit earlier with an update.Zeus, our other dog, is wandering round like a lost soul looking for Jet. Funny how you can miss a pet so much when they have only been gone a day.Thank you all for your interest. I will let you know more as soon as I can.

OOooops

not suposed to press enter. I can only presume Soldiermum is down at Massey with her pup Jet. If you haven't been following this thread Jet has to have both elbows opperated on. Without the opp he would have been in terrible pain or on pain relief. If you feel you can, I am sure the donation point is still open go to "enter ruffle" and donate your five booty items to "soldiermum's pup. you will be in to win the monthly prize and helping Jet at the same time. Also if you win a butch roll on FFC you can donate that at the same place. Thanks everyone
