Use white vinegar on the spot. It,s great for taking the smell of urine out of the carpet.

When toilet training my puppy i used disinfectant and a lot of hot water and blotting with a towel - or using the mop which is really good for sucking up liquid out of the carpet. The disinfectant stops the smell and prevents them reusing the same area as they can't smell where they did it.

told me that if you hold a jug of warm water with normal dish liquid, just a normal amout like doin dishes, above waist height and pore it on it lifts it up, then blot with a towel
