Eyes for Pikes

My little mate has inherited catarraches from his Catahoula breeding. (Border Collie)He is going blind. The distressing thing is he is two years old. The operation by 1 of 2 surgeons in NZ is $3000. We hope for a $ miracle. Has anyone else been put in this horrible situation? Looking for HELP...

EYES FOR PIKE

In 2006 I took a photo of our sick puppy & made up appeal posters. The heading was THE SAVE CHARM APPEAL.I approached local businesses & shops & asked if they would display the posters. Then I went to our local weekly newspaper & asked if they would run the story..it was an amazing experience. The public donated for Charm to have heart surgery and the vet surgeons & nurses donated their time free of charge.Go with an appeal it worked for us & goodluck

So how do I do it?

Donations from generous persons would really help Pikes. He is getting quite bad now. He crashes into things, fell in the pond, dropped off a bank trying to put the cows away(Funny but sad),he just disappeared. He was very physical but now getting fat and it has only been 3 weeks.
How do I get donations set up for poor Pikes?

Genetic blunder

The vet told me it could be generations ago and suggested we dont breed him. my concern are that they are working dogs, as was his father and so on. Some may have it some dont...but all carry the gene. I will do the right thing and stop, but others carry on totally unaware. It came on so suddenly though. 2 weeks and some may not even notice.

Are we up for it again

last time a situation like this arose Butch set up a donation spot in the ruffle area so if you felt generous with your winnings you could donate it to that person. Then Butch held onto the monies and paid it direct to the vet. I will certainly contribute. My only concern is- If this is a pure bred dog and has an inherited problem is your breeder going to help you as well??? We help any of our puppy owners finacialy with any inhertited problems
