Eyes for Pikes

Is anybody out there? Pikes is not looking at getting his operation. Poor guy will have to stay this way for ever. I appreciate all the help from some Butch members but it's looking grim for him. He has to have the op within a year as retinal damage increases as time goes on. The rate at the moment he should get up the money in say....5 years! Thanks again to everyone who has donated, including me(everything I win). Maybe I should have called it SPCA PIKES or something.LOL.

To butch and everyone involved. After all that has been said about us and our intentions on this site , i can only hope that people such as marzion and my wife continue to use this site as it is four the animals. not people imagine if i was to profile ilean, as she has done to us.

After reading your comments .I am appalled that this site still lets you on it .This eyes four pikes was to help a dog in need. It seems clear to me that you have more money than everyone else on this site put together.

THE truth of the matter is pikes is blind now either from grape sprays or genetic disorder I hope you enjoy your wine Ilean.
And what was said about our bad luck was true, all of it. Our intention was 4 our animals not us. So if u requires a sorry here it is. But only for u not reading properly. IF u do not wont to help pikes let us no how much u donated and we will give it to Ilean who seems to need it more than pikes.

I am psychic’s husband. After reading your comment. I can only assume u read it wrong. My wife meant every thing she won would be put to pikes. To think we would steal people’s kindness like this I find insulting especially when a few comments by Ileana turned a plus into a minus.

Whingers

If you read one of my earlier comments you will see that I stated I was trying not be be negative but I find it hard when someone whinges when people are trying to help them. At the end of the day the only person who can get you out of all your problems is you and once you stop feeling sorry for yourself and set goals etc you will be fine.

Why can you not get the operation done now & pay it off? We did that at

Massey.Arranged auto payments through the bank. Our bill is now all paid off & we have an auto payment to our Vet so it won't happen again.A small amount adds up.I can now go to the Vet & get, worming/flea treatments or whatever, with out the worry of how to pay for things.Had to get the Vet out on Friday to a ewe with a dead lamb sticking out of her.Lamb was way too big & Vet had to cut it's head off to get it out.No worries about the cost as auto payments will cover it & keep going. Good luck.

Pardon

Why are you calling me negative, I gave a fair bit for pikes, voted for him and also asked friends to vote. You call me negative because I asked a genuine question. I think you owe me an apology. I did not accuse you of anything, just it did not seem as though from your first post that you would continue to seek help for Pikes and I wanted to know what happened to the money collected for him. Thanks I will not be assisting any one person again and you can pat yourself on the back for that one

Positive

Thanks charmo1. At least there are still some positive people out there like you and moikyboy.... not like negative people like Ilean and marazion. In answer to your question marazion... I'm not giving up and if I do it will all go to the Marlborough SPCA. I have a year!!!!

Dont give up !!..

Times are hard for everyone.Increased costs for food, petrol, rates this and that.Dont let yourself be put out because you feel like you are not getting anywhere. If you get word out there to others that Pike needs help you might be nicely surprised. An appeal worked for our puppy to have heart surgery at massey vet clinic.I spoke to the vets and they kindly donated their time for the operation. If I hadnt dropped my pride and asked for help from others I would've got no where.Have faith and good luck

I hope this experience with this person does not deter Butch from helping other people and their pets.

Um you said it yourself

You go on about people not reading things properly then maybe you need to read your own comments closer. I am trying not to give you a hard time but it's kind of difficult when people have tried to help you and then you go and post a negative message afterwards. Some people are just born whingers and attention seekers. I feel sorry for your animals. I would give up everything for my babies.

Concerned

I am a little concerned as to who will recieve the money that has already been raised for pikes if he is not going to get his operation. I ask because I donated quite a lot to the cause and would prefer it was transferred to someone else if not for Pikes

Half cocked people

If people had read things properly instead of half cocked they would see I thanked many people.
Ive destocked to 2 cows 1 sheep.
Ive been selling our stuff etc resulting in dishonest people not paying etc, my vet bills for Pikes are getting up he,s on permanent meds.
And also last year I lost 2 of my beloved dogs as some jerk was poisoning them until the police got involved. It cost me 1500 to keep my darling old dog alive after a mongrel poisoned her twice.

Your farms under water

You and your partner are crippled, your dogs blind, your boat leaks, and your house burnt down? thats some bad karma man....

Sun 28 Sep 2008 @ 8:38:PM

Lakefront.

Yes we have a lake frontage and its cool in a way as we do rowing in the dingy(got to keep the front up or it leeks) and the dogs are having a ball. The kids go eel hunting(eyes only, no catching) to talley up the numbers. It would be 2 acres big and average of 4 ft deep going up to 6 feet. AWESOME for us but not for the cow and the bull.

Half your farm still under water?

I think your having a laugh......

Every one has had a hard winter

and most people have fallen on hard times at some stage in their lives. Why not sell off your stock and use the money from the stock to pay for op? Then your land can recover and when you and your husband are able to look after the lifestyle block again buy in new stock.

Wed 24 Sep 2008 @ 1:33:PM

psychic2000nz

Bright ideas

We cant loan as we are part way thro rebuilding our house after a fire gutted half of it last year. Both myself and husband have been on acc for 2 years from serious injuries, husband having to have another op. We are trying to manage a lifestyle block with a blind dog and injuries. Stock is being lessened and half the farm is STILL under water from the floods and damage still not repaired yet. EQC is slow. So budgets are tight and stock food scarce, buying in hay.
So when do I get a break?

Tue 23 Sep 2008 @ 4:05:PM

Thats a bit ungrateful

SPCAs help many animals and need all the help they can get. There are plenty of other ways to raise money or you could get a loan or arrange with the vet to pay off an account. You are not the only one who has had to pay for an expensive operation for an animal. There is always a way.
