Pemphigus Foliaceus

Our girl Avalanche, is a White Shepherd.She is not 3 years old till 19th May. At the end of February 2016 she suddenly developed symptoms that were similar to a mite infestation. We went to the vet and got antibiotics and washes to help her skin. And we thought she was getting better, however new open sores and rashes appeared, ears, all legs,underbelly, back of neck, top of rump on spine and around genitals. So we got scrapings and biopsies taken. The vet finally rang with a diagnosis, she has a Auto-Immune disorder call Pemphigus Foliaceus. I had tried to find others here in New Zealand with a dog with this disorder for info but no one has replied. I had only found negative reports on long term outcomes and negative comments about reactions to medications in most vet studies but have found other info since. So finding Pemphigus & Dog Facebook page has been great. Avalanche is currently responding well to prednisone. Anyone who has a dog with an Auto Immune Disorder, it is worth looking at this facebook page, even if it is for moral support, it is set up by a lady in Texas who's dog was diagnosed in April 2015 and has had the same trouble as me finding others with dogs with this condition and information. I have posted all info sources and shared my experience on her page also.

micky first swim

hey there, went fishing yesterday and micky had his first swim, my brother put him on his kayak and he jumped off twice and swam to shore, what a good little boy my micky is. I brought the big roll of butch food with vegi rice and fish they both love it so much, thanks to all butch people who bring happiness to our little family members, your the best micky and feebee love you all hope you all had great weekends.

New addition

speights has been gone 1 year so tui is the new pup and she has had her first meat of butch dog roll went down very quickly

 

goodbye dear friend

Sadly we had to have our boxer Abby put down today. She had mast cell tumor on her back leg. She was a dear friend and great companion, she will be missed. Any lumps should be checked out by a vet. If we had the first lumped removed earlier with clean margins around it she may still be with us today.

My little man micky love the small beef butch cat and dog roll. but I have brought him two bags of puppy biscuits, but he love feebee cat biscuits, he has his sometimes one at a time. but will the cat biscuits do him any harm. or a\his I\he find eating them. he just loves them. He eats anything feebee eat. if she doesn't eat it he wont. please anyone can ou advise what to do?
